Job Title:

Supported Volunteering Project Worker

Job Description:

This project helps adults with support needs - mental health problems or learning or physical disability - to find meaningful volunteering placements in their local community. You would be the main point of contact for these individuals as well as the charities/voluntary groups that would accept them and offer ongoing support for the duration of the placements. You would organise training, with the help of outside providers, to prepare both individuals and groups for this step and would be responsible for promotion of the project to interested parties. Time commitment is 18.5 hours per week over at least 2 1/2 days, one of which must be Monday or Friday.

Salary Details:

£22,221 pro rata for 18.5 hours per week

Person Description:

You must be resourceful, self-motivated and self-sufficient, able to work on yoru own initiative and as part of our team. You will nedd good communication skills, written, verbal and on the telephone, to deal with a wide range of clients, local groups, councillors, council officers and so on. You must have empathy for clients with support needs and employment experience in social services, mental health, learning or physical disability, or other appropriate, related field. Must be a car driver with own transport and have good knwledge of word and excel.
