Development Officer - Trusts & Statutory

Job Description:

To manage fundraising appeals from Trusts and Foundations and major donors in support of 4SIGHT’s services for people with sight loss, liaise with appropriate individuals within 4SIGHT to keep abreast of the plans for service development and to identify opportunities for fundraising appeals and business development opportunities ; develop cases of need for these areas as appropriate, researching provision, local demand and demography ; write major Trust & Foundation fundraising proposals and Statutory grant and service agreement bids for 4SIGHT services and projects ; write applications and reports and to utilise 4SIGHT’s existing systems to record all contact with Trusts &Foundations, Statutory Bodies and other major donors ; make applications on behalf of all of the projects/services run by 4SIGHT and/or its partners and affiliates to support the work carried out ; Report upon performance as required i.e. monthly, quarterly and at the close of each financial year ; Report externally upon the use of funding, maintaining appropriate relationships ; open and/or maintain links with funding partners, members and professionals working in the fields associated with sight loss and fundraising / appeals ; Guide other internal staff around major appeals, bidding processes and encouraging giving ; Manage administrative processes, keep records, arrange meetings, develop presentations, maintain databases, write correspondence, send emails, make telephone calls etc. ; Help and assist with various fundraising projects as they may arise.

Salary Details:

Circa £25,000 (pro rata) / Daily Rate (negotiable) 15hrs per wk / 2 days

Person Description:

The post holder must have a proven track record and evidence of success in fundraising from Trusts, Statutory Sources and /or Lottery sources ; Experience in the implementation of appropriate fundraising strategies, and meeting targets set ; Experience of identifying opportunities and mobilising individuals to secure development funding ; Experience of managing a diverse range of complex approaches concurrently.
