A Chair for the Regional Strategic Cross Sector Partnership A Chair for the Regional Strategic Cross Sector Partnership
The role of the SE Regional Strategic Cross Sector Partnership is unique in England. Following the work of the ChangeUp Regional Consortium, the Partnership was set up in 2007 with the purpose of being a cross sector regional and national influencing group on polices affecting the Third Sector in the SE. It seeks to influence these policies as they are devised and implemented and to monitor their impact on the Third Sector. It links to the work of the Office of the Third Sector, Capacitybuilders, Communities and Local Government’s empowerment agenda, ChangeUp and infrastructure development, but its remit is wider than this, ranging across a wide variety of policy and delivery arenas which affect the Third Sector. It will also meet the Capacitybuilders programme of ensuring consortia are strategic, credible and influential partnerships able to strengthen the Third Sector locally and regionally.
RAISE Voluntary/Community Representatives’ response to the Regional Sustainability Framework RAISE Voluntary/Community Representatives’ response to the Regional Sustainability Framework
The 7 RAISE Voluntary/Community Sector (VCS) Representatives welcome the opportunity to comment on the Regional Sustainability Framework (RSF) and are broadly supportive of the document. The RAISE VCS Representatives believe that the RSF will become increasingly important as the recommendations of the Review of Sub-National Economic Development and Regeneration (SNR) are implemented and the Regional Development Agency is given executive responsibility for preparing a single regional strategy which will set out the region's economic, environmental and social objectives. The 7 RAISE VCS Representatives welcome the ambitious targets set in the RSF but recognise that many will be dependant on behaviour change and believe that serious thought must be given to how those most in need can be encouraged to change their behaviour, without the use of measures which would risk worsening their situation.
