Big Lottery Fund Launch Big Thinking Consultation
The BIG Lottery launched its Big Thinking Consultation in London on Monday 17th November. The formal consultation is on the strategic framework and funding policies for BIG over the next three years.
From now until at least 2012, the diversion of Lottery funds to the Olympics means that there will be less new Lottery money available.
But demand is greater than ever so this is your chance to get the voice of the voluntary/community sector (VCS) heard and to influence the BIG strategy for 2009–15.
One particular question in the consultation document, which raises some concern, is question 4:
After 2012, when our 60-70% undertaking ends, should we continue to guarantee a percentage of our funding goes to the voluntary and community sector?
a) Funding should go to the organisation in the best position to deliver the project outcomes, whichever sector they are from.
b) BIG should extend its undertaking to the voluntary and community sector beyond 2012.
Does this mean BIG is considering funding the public and the private sector?
If you would like to participate in a focus group and input into the RAISE response please join us on the 14th January 2009 at the YMCA, Guildford (details to be confirmed) to discuss these questions.

We Want Your Views On The South East Equalities Network (SEEN) Business Case

This group comprises of over 20 different agencies and organisations; from both the Third Sector and from regional agencies. The Advisory Group has produced a business case for a Regional Third Sector Equality Network.
The ultimate purpose of this business case is to set out a clear proposal regarding equality, diversity and human rights in a transparent way that may lead to a significant and sustainable benefit to the Third Sector in the region.
The consultation is now open and will run until mid-December.
